Services may include a one-time appointment or ongoing sessions where you can address your particular questions or concerns.
This is an initial session to discuss and answer questions regarding your child or your family's specific situation. Resources and referrals are available to assist your family and your individual needs. Ongoing therapy sessions at Holt International's Illinois and Wisconsin branch are an option after the consultation.
These are ongoing sessions based on the progress of your identified goals and objectives. Each individual and family is unique, so treatment plans are individualized and based on your unique needs. Individual therapy is a one-on-one therapy session with the identified client (you or your child) and the therapist.
Family therapy is a session with all members of the family, or at least one parent/ caregiver, the child and the therapist. These are ongoing sessions based on the progress of your identified goals and objectives.
Group therapy is an ongoing group session with other identified clients. Arranged by the therapist, groups are based on similar age ranges, the presenting problem/issue and maturity level.
It is a privilege to offer compassionate, professional support to you or your child and family. We feel it is very important to treat each client individually and look at all aspects of their life in order to help them work towards health and becoming their best self.

Pam Shepard, LCSW
Supervisor of Clinical Services
Pam has over 20 years of experience in child welfare and is extensively trained to provide therapy for adopted children, teens, adult adoptees, adoptive parents, birth parents and families. Pam sees clients for individual, family and group therapy and she is trained in Theraplay®, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy and Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI). "My passion is to assist adoptees in processing how adoption has impacted them and to validate their unique, individual feelings throughout that journey. As a parent, I also understand that we have one of the most difficult and rewarding privileges of teaching, loving and raising our children. I love educating parents on how to balance structure and nurture, how to model for their children and most of all how to have an amazing connection with their children who came to them from a hard place."
Here are some areas in which she specializes:
