Maggie and Bill are waiting to welcome a child into their heart and home through open adoption. Learn more about them!

Hi, we are Maggie, Bill, & Ella. Thank you for taking the time to consider our profile.

For many years we have hoped to bring another child into our family and share our love. This is an uncertain time for us as adoptive parents and for you as a birth mother. There are so many questions and different things to worry about. Your choice of adoption is both courageous and inspirational. Our promise to you is to respect you and your decision and raise your baby with love, openness, and honesty. We believe that all people should be treated with kindness and compassion and want to instill those values in our children.

Our priority as parents is to love and support our children and ensure that they are happy and proud of who they are. As you decide which family is right for your child, we hope you will consider us and are happy to answer any questions you have about our family and our parenting. We will be forever thankful to you for your trust and the opportunity to add to our family.

From the beginning of our relationship, we knew we were meant to start a family together…

I have always treasured my family and friends. My ideal day would be to spend time with family and friends while eating really good food. I grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago. My cultural heritage is mixed: Japanese, Irish, and German.

I want to expand our family because I think the more people in your life to love the greater your life becomes, and I want to share that with a new little one. The best part of my day is coming home to my husband Bill and our daughter Ella.

About Maggie, From Bill

I’ve often said that Maggie is the best person I’ve ever met. She always puts others before herself and has the amazing ability to understand what others are feeling. Her warmth and generosity remind me every day that there is still decency and good in the world. These wonderful character traits are a big part of why she is such a fantastic mom. She is patient, understanding, and encouraging with our daughter Ella and raising a family with her has only strengthened our marriage.

The most important things in the world to me are my family and my personal time. Maggie and I are both attorneys and we met at work in 2006. I spend most of my free time with Maggie, Ella, our extended family, or on “play-dates” with the wonderful group of children and parents who have become close personal friends of ours.

Maggie and I want to share the love of our family with another child. Our daughter, Ella, is a sweet, thoughtful, and energetic child who loves to interact with kids of all ages.

Bill, being cool-ish.

About Bill, From Maggie

Bill is a great dad. His relationship with Ella is loving and kind. If you ask Ella, she would say her favorite thing is when he plays with her – wrestling, Barbies, or a dance party. He is also a great husband. I can always count on him to be there for me in the good and bad times. Our relationship has only grown stronger and more loving through the years. He always puts Ella and I first. I am grateful for him everyday.

Ella being a daredevil!

Ella is now six and half years old and just started first grade. She loves school because she gets to be with all her friends. Ella loves to have fun and play and is very sweet and thoughtful. She can’t wait to be big sister. Ella has always looked out for the “little” kids and will certainly show her little brother or sister all about the big world and where we hide the candy in our house. She loves trying new things and going new places. She loves drawing and doing crafts and not long ago she brought home a picture she made at school showing how excited she is to be a big sister to a new baby.

Ella was born on Valentine’s Day and has always had a loving and caring heart.

Ella always loving and helping her cousins.

Our House

Our three-step ranch home is warm and welcoming. It feels spacious and we love it. Added bonus – we live next to a park! Maggie’s parents and our two dogs, Lady and Daisy, also live with us. Maggie’s mom is from Okinawa, Japan and has been in the United States for over 50 years. Her dad grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago, served in the Army, and was a photo engraver by trade. They cannot wait to love and cuddle a new grandchild. Lady is a white poodle and Daisy is a puggle (pug/beagle mix).

Extended Family and Friends

Maggie has a brother, aka Uncle Robert. He lives in Chicago, about 30 minutes away. Bill’s mom and dad, aka Nana and Papa, live in the same town as us and are super active in Ella’s life. We have a big network of cousins and family all over the Chicagoland area and the country as well in Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Florida, New York, California, etc. Lots of places to travel to and explore. All of our family members cannot wait to meet the next addition to our family.

We love family vacations. Our biggest vacation was a two-week drive to Orlando Florida and Universal Studios. Ella and Maggie are big Harry Potter fans and we are looking for an excuse to go back, like bringing a new family member to enjoy the fun with us. Vacations are our time to eat yummy food, swim, go to the beach, hang out in the great outdoors, but most of all to have fun.

Entering the Wizarding World

Escaping Dinosaurs in Jurassic Park

Girls Scouts Headquarters in Savannah, Georgia

Everyday Moments

Being silly together everyday is what makes life so sweet and rewarding. Here’s a few of our everyday moments if you were to catch us together on a regular day.

Special Days

Every day is special but sometimes we get to do extra special things. We like to go and try out new things like the theater, festivals, themed dinners and the great museums that Chicago has to offer

The Pierogi Fest in Whiting, Indiana

Harry Potter Dinner in Grant Park, Illinois

At the Museum of Science and Industry

At the Shedd Aquarium

Thank you

Thank you again for considering our family. We hope we’ve shown you our deep commitment to family and desire to love another child. Whatever path you choose, we know it will be the right one for you and your child. If you do choose us, we promise to walk that path together with you, adding love and laughter. As you can see Ella can’t wait until the baby gets here, and neither can Maggie and Bill.
