Carol and Eric are waiting to welcome a child into their heart and home through open adoption. Learn more about them!
Dear Birth Mom/Family,
We are Carol and Eric.
We realize that your journey may be filled with difficult decisions and we want you to know that we sincerely offer you our prayers and support. We cannot begin to imagine what you are going through. Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about us.
We have always dreamed of a home filled with children, love, and laughter. When we found ourselves struggling with infertility and the choices it presented, the idea of adoption grew in our hearts. Two of Carol’s nieces were adopted and we have seen firsthand what a truly amazing gift it is. We will always speak lovingly of our child’s birth parents and promise to raise him or her knowing their adoption story.
Our Story & How We Met
We have been married for 11 years. We met at work. We are both public school teachers. Eric needed someone to help out with concessions at a dance, and Carol needed someone to chaperone the boys in her class on an overnight trip to the school forest. We helped each other out and have been together ever since. We live in Central Wisconsin and have two dogs who live with us, and one who will always live in our hearts.
Eric grew up in Central Wisconsin. He is an only child. Growing up he enjoyed spending time with his cousins at his grandparent’s house. He attended college in Wisconsin for both his undergraduate and graduate degrees, and works as a Library Media Specialist at an elementary school in Central Wisconsin. His most memorable volunteer experience is working with the Good News Project and traveling to Saint Vincent, where he helped build homes. His hobbies include: biking, cross-country skiing, working out in the yard, traveling, going to sporting events, and walking the dogs. He also enjoys spending time with family, watching movies with Carol, and going to the YMCA.
Carol grew up in Northeastern Wisconsin and is the fourth of five children. She has three sisters and one brother, and is an identical twin. A few of her favorite memories from childhood include getting up early on Saturday mornings to watch cartoons with her sisters and brother, camping, and playing football with her family on Thanksgiving. Carol attended college in Wisconsin and has a Master’s Degree in Reading. She works as a Reading Interventionist at an elementary school in Central Wisconsin. Carol enjoys baking, singing, watching movies, spending time outdoors, crafting, reading, playing with her dogs, and spending time with family.
Our Home & Community
Our home is located in a family friendly neighborhood on a quiet corner lot, near to parks and swimming pools. We have lived here for about six years. The backyard is fenced in and has plenty of space to run around and play in. We love spending time outdoors in our backyard!
Spending time with family is very important to us. Eric’s parents live close to us and we see them often. Carol’s parents are only a couple of hours away and her brother and sisters are in Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, and Delaware. We get together for holidays, birthdays, special occasions, and sometimes just to visit. Our nephews in Delaware come to visit us in the summer for a week. Thanksgiving is special to us because everyone comes to our house. There is nothing more important to us than family.
We recently lost our sweet golden, Gracie. She was 11 years old. Rexy is our shepherd mix. We rescued him from the Humane Society about five years ago. Rani is the newest member of our family. She is our rambunctious little golden puppy. We love our fur babies.
Our Hopes for Our Child
Our goal as parents is to provide a loving, fun-filled home, where our child feels safe and supported. We feel that spending time together as a family is one of the most important things we can do. We believe it is the small day-to-day things in life that convey the most love to children-taking the time to eat dinner together each night, celebrating everyday accomplishments, like losing a tooth or getting a good grade in school, giving plenty of hugs and kisses, and always saying I love you. By providing consistency in our parenting, and always disciplining in a positive way, we hope to raise our child to be respectful of others, to see the good in people and the value in forgiveness, and to always be thankful for the blessings we have in life. We will always speak lovingly of our child’s birth parents and promise to raise him or her knowing their adoption story.
We are excited to make our dreams of becoming parents come true through adoption! We believe that your decision to form an adoption plan for your baby is an extremely selfless act and we promise to raise your child always speaking lovingly of you. We want you to know that we are here to support you, and welcome an open relationship complete with emails, pictures, and visits. Above all, we want you to be comfortable, so if you prefer more privacy, we promise to respect your decision. Thank you for considering us as parents for your baby. Whether you choose us or another loving family, we hope you are comforted in your decision.
