Travel to Vietnam with Holt in 2026!

Traveling from the south to the north of Vietnam, adoptees and adoptive families on Holt’s heritage tour will experience the diversity and beauty of this ancient and remarkable country.

From big cities to rural villages, tour participants will explore the country together as we visit famous tourist sites, learn about Vietnam’s rich cultural heritage and experience everyday life in Vietnam. Our journey will take us from Ho Chi Minh City in the south to Hanoi in the north, and to the historic cities of Hoi An and Ha Long Bay. We will visit important museums and traditional temples, savor Vietnamese cuisine and much more!

Whenever possible, adoptees of all ages will have a chance to visit their former orphanage, foster family and/or sites significant to their adoption story and meet the people who touched their early lives. Tour participants will also have the opportunity to learn about Holt’s work in Vietnam and meet some of the children and families in our family strengthening programs.

This tour is open to all Vietnamese adoptees and their families, whether or not their placing agency was Holt. All participants should be 9 years or older before they travel on the tour. Adult adoptee, ages 18 and older, can request that Holt initiate a birth family search.

*Please note: If Holt was not your placing agency and you have access to your records, we will do our utmost to arrange a visit to your specific orphanage whenever possible. We understand the importance of this connection in your adoption journey. You will have the opportunity to visit other Holt-sponsored orphanages during the tour

Our tour will take families from the south to north of Vietnam, visiting important sites and learning about Vietnamese culture along the way.

Families will be able to meet some of the children and families in our family strengthening programs.

Whenever possible, adoptees will have the chance to visit their former orphanage and/or other locations significant to their early adoption story.

How much is the Vietnam Heritage Tour?

Cost for 2026 Vietnam Heritage Tour:

Adults (12 years and older) = $3,500
Children (under age 12) = $3,200
*Based on double occupancy, an additional $1,000 charge for a single room
**Fees are based on 25 participants

All registrations will require a $500 per-person non-refundable deposit.
Tour fees must be paid in full by March 1, 2026.
Refund policy: Fees are fully refundable (excluding $500 deposits) until March 15, 2026.

– Assistance with Vietnam visa on arrival processing service
– Hotel accommodations with breakfast
– Domestic flights in Vietnam
– Ground transportation/transfer between the airport and the hotel, according to the group itinerary
– Professional tour guide
– Entrance fees for sightseeing per itinerary

– International airfare
– Visa application fee
– Tips for tour guides, drivers, cruise staff
– Personal expenses, spending money
– Meals listed on your own in the itinerary
– Optional tours/shows
– Transfers between the airport and the hotel before or after the tour

*All details are subject to change due to fluctuating costs, including an increase in the fuel surcharge that is charged to us by the airline. We reserve the right to increase our costs accordingly.

Here is a sample itinerary for the Vietnam Heritage Tour. Please note that the itinerary issubject to change.

Day 3	Attend a group orientation, then take a half-day tour of Ho Chi Minh City
Day 4	Adoptees may visit their former orphanage
Day 5	Tour the Cu Chi tunnels, then depart for the coastal city of Hoi An
Day 6	Participate in a Vietnamese cooking class and take a tour Hoi An
Day 7	Adoptees may visit their former orphanage and the Holt-supported Kianh Foundation Center for children with disabilities
Day 8	Tour the Cam Thanh Coconut Village in Hoi An and take a lantern-making class
Day 9	Visit the Museum of Cham Sculpture, then depart for Hanoi
Day 10	Take a full-day city tour of Hanoi
Day 11	Visit a craft village and learn to write calligraphy
Day 12	Travel from Hanoi to Halong Bay for an overnight cruise
Day 13	Take a tour in Halong Bay and return to Hanoi
Day 14	Explore Hanoi on your own or take an optional side trip to the Bat Trang ceramic village
Day 15	Leave Vietnam for the U.S.
